Children as young as four may enroll in our academy, and people of any age can continue their education here.

Our Origin
Cobrinha BJJ & Fitness founder, Rubens "Cobrinha" Maciel, is one of the most decorated and honored athletes in the history of our sport. He is the ONLY black belt athlete to win the coveted Super Grand Slam by winning all 5 major events in the same year. Cobrinha achieved this in 2017. He is as well known for his teaching style and his ability to bring out the best in everyone, whether they are a hobbyist or trying to be world champions. Sungsil "Enzo" Kang, the owner of Cobrinha BJJ North Hollywood, met Cobrinha in 2004 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and since has continued to train and learn from Cobrinha as a brother and loyal student. Over the years spent together, Enzo became Cobrinha's second black belt in 2010 and currently holds a third-degree black belt. He has competed in numerous competitions, placing in the Top 3 in major tournaments. He is one of the pioneers of BJJ in South Korea and has made a name for himself in the Korean BJJ community for 20+ years. He now continues his journey in the United States. So whatever your goals, whether it's learning a new sport, getting fit, or becoming an international champion, Cobrinha BJJ can change your life forever.
